Carolyn on the Issues

ECONOMY

I’m running to create a stronger economy in NH, where people can afford to live and raise a family. Small businesses, especially women-owned businesses and young entrepreneurs, deserve our support. I favor reversing corporate tax cuts for the rich and growing our state’s transportation and broadband infrastructure so that our local businesses can compete and thrive.

EDUCATION

I believe that it is crucial to support New Hampshire’s public schools. I oppose the current school voucher program, which takes Granite Staters’ tax dollars away from the public schools with little oversight into how those funds are used.

ENVIRONMENT

I support conservation efforts. With our neighbors in Bridgewater, my husband and I have helped place 170 acres in permanent watershed protection for Newfound Lake. I have been a beekeeper and a beekeeping educator for 20 years, and I lecture to enhance public awareness of bees’ critical role in pollination. NO BEES = NO FOOD!

REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM

I believe in a woman’s right to control her own body. These decisions are deeply personal and sensitive, and they should be made between a woman and her doctor – not politicians. If you send me to Concord, I will always vote to protect reproductive freedoms.

DEMOCRACY

A functioning democracy is essential to protecting individuals’ rights. As a legislator, I will work to stop any efforts to make it more difficult for people to vote. As an activist and educator, I will use my voice to encourage the next generation to register to vote and become involved in politics.
